                       To bring People and Animals closer together

 

Andrea's big passion is handling animals and teaching people to care and have respect for everything that lives. Often people buy a pet, only to find out that it’s not just a toy. But that it needs love and care, and costs lot of time and money. The animal then simply gets sold or dumped without a second thought.

A large number of these animals have found a loving home on the Ranch. They often arrive neglected and sick, but eventually find a whole new live here.

Amongst the residents of the ranch are chickens, rabbits and of course the six ponies and three large poodles.

Most animals love to get attention from humans and are very suited to be petted and cuddled. By careful selection, good care and lots of training,the SunFlowers Ranch has accomplished to use most of her animals in petting and cuddle projects for nursing homes and schools.

 

 

                       

   

 

It is also important to teach children from a young age how to handle animals. SunFlowers Ranch has an extended program for schoolchildren to learn to respect all animals, and to teach them how to handle them and how to care for them. We have brought special afternoons to life where the children next to caring for the animals, also are allowed to pet, cuddle and if they want, make a ride on one of the ponies.

Also, elderly and debilitated people have shown to enjoy and feel better when they can regularly interact with animals. Therefore the SunFlowers Ranch has special cuddle and petting days for nursing homes.

 

 

 

Overigens verzorgt de Stichting ook projecten voor andere tehuizen en scholen. Wel eens een pony in de huiskamer zien zitten? Iemand met een konijn in zijn armen in gedachten zien terugkeren naar betere tijden? Een kind veiligheid en woorden zien vinden met zijn armen rond een hond? Onze vrijwilligers worden intern opgeleid om op de juiste wijze met onze dieren en onze cliënten om te gaan.

Op het terrein werden en worden regelmatig dieren vaak letterlijk gedumpt, al dan niet in een doos.

De Stichting vangt deze dieren op; de meeste dieren zijn getraumatiseerd en hebben de eerste tijd medische zorg nodig, zo ook onze 7 pony`s, met ieder hun eigen levensverhaal. Het opvangen, de verzorging en het onderhoud van de dieren, daarnaast het onderhoud van de weides en stallen, kost veel geld. De onkosten rijzen vaak de pan uit!

 

SunFlowers Ranch is dan ook naarstig op zoek naar Sponsors, die een steentje willen bijdragen in de kosten, om de Ranch te kunnen behouden en dit werk te kunnen voortzetten. Ook voer of andere materiële steun is van harte welkom. Uiteraard vinden Sponsors een plekje voor bijvoorbeeld een advertentie op onze website en in onze folders.
