Small Shelter

Over 90% of the animals on the Ranch were rescued. Some are taken by the “Dierenbescherming” (the dutch SPCA) including ponies, rabbits, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs but also chickens that simply got discarded after buying them. Often animals come in sick, neglected and starving. It happens regularly that we find a box somewhere on the ranch with a animal in it, no note, no address.

| We found a box again, whats in it??? big wound on a rabbit sometimes we just literally cry about this |
When arriving every animal get a check over, treated by our vet and made well again. All animals get their de-worming and shots and if needed they also get neutered. After that we look if an animal is suited for replacement. We check if they are tame, people focused and healthy. These animals get adopted out for a small fee.
All animals get a nutritious diet, and of course all the room they need inside and outside. This is why we only take in few animals if we can. And keep our room for those cases that really need it.
Sunflowers Ranch is not a pension. Temporary shelter for vacation or illness is not possible. We do not have the space and material for this!
All costs for the vet, care, feeding and the shelters maintenance are paid out of our own pocket. SunFlowers Ranch is a nonprofit organization and therefore depending on donations and sponsoring. Do you want to support the SunFlowers Ranch and with that the animals in need? Than please contact Andrea Sonderen (for english contact you can contact Tamara - Daikiara@hotmail.com - ) Sponsoring can be done with money, but also food and materials or tools are very much welcomed. Naturally all sponsors get a place on our webpage and in our leaflets.
